3 Teams That Should Trade For Cam Robinson

The Jacksonville Jaguars were defeated 30-27 by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, bringing their record to a hapless 2-6. Qualifying for the postseason is a pipedream that is slipping away from head coach Doug Pederson. Instead, the Jaguars should continue selling assets in exchange for draft capital at the NFL trade deadline.

General manager Trent Baalke already traded defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris. Wide receiver Christian Kirk was a potential castoff but suffered a season-ending injury on Sunday. Teams looking to the Jaguars for potential targets may pivot to offensive tackle Cam Robinson.

Robinson is in a contract year and the Jaguars are unlikely to re-sign him. They’re much likelier to select his successor in the 2025 NFL Draft. We’ve identified three potential landing spots via trade.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders pulled off a breathtaking win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, with a last-second Hail Mary from Jayden Daniels leading to a walk-off victory as time expired. Rookie left tackle Brandon Coleman missed the game due to a concussion suffered in Week 7. Coleman didn't log a single practice last week while working through the league's concussion protocol.

Replacement starter Cornelius Lucas injured his ankle in the third quarter of Sunday's contest and missed the remainder of the game. Veteran journeyman Trent Scott was thrust into action as a result. The 6-2 Commanders sit atop the NFC East but are now dealing with various injuries at tackle. Robinson wouldn't be a shoo-in starter, but he'd offer the team better depth at a position that's banged up.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering Monday's primetime game versus the New York Giants at 5-2 and atop the AFC North after the Baltimore Ravens were upset by the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The new starting quarterback, Russell Wilson, was outstanding in last week's debut against the New York Jets. The surging Steelers should continue investing in the protection around him.

Dan Moore Jr. has been a replacement-level starter for years. Their offensive tackle depth took a massive hit when rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu suffered a season-ending injury in practice. Sophomore tackle Broderick Jones is playing right tackle, and the Steelers no longer have any realistic options to replace Moore Jr. with in-season if he were to go down or underperform. Nabbing Robinson could help Pittsburgh get through the season.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are quietly in red-hot form. They're on a three-game winning streak, outscoring their opponents 85-36 throughout that span. The Eagles are in a two-team race with the Commanders for the NFC East division title.

Starting left tackle Jordan Mailata is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The versatile blocker will be sidelined for at least one month with a tricky injury that could hamper him through the conclusion of the 2024 season. Fill-in starter Fred Johnson is struggling mightily. A 2019 undrafted free agent, Johnson allowed 20 pressures in the first three games he saw extended action in. Robinson would step in to protect Jalen Hurts' blindside.
