2025 NFL Draft
3 QBs Giants Should Target In 2025 NFL Draft
Playing in New York is much more than just the X’s and O's. It's about understanding the people, the rich history of the Giants, and understanding the demand to win. Not every quarterback is ready for that.
After six years of the Daniel Jones era, it appears that the Giants are finally ready to turn the page and find a new face of the franchise. The current regime is under some scrutiny with the mishandling of some key roster decisions and needs a new situation to get fans to believe in. It appears that the Giants will be at least a top-10 team in the 2025 NFL Draft and will have an opportunity to draft a QB of the future.
Here are the three top names the Giants should be looking at in the 2025 NFL Draft that have not only the talent but the ability to deal with the standards that come with playing for the Giants.
Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe would enter the NFL draft as a two-year starter with Alabama with experience playing in high-pressure games against high-level competition. Over the last two years, Milroe has proven to be a dual-threat quarterback, utilizing his running ability to make explosive plays in the run game but also to extend broken plays and throw the ball down the field.
Milroe would be a good option for the Giants as this offensive line continues to figure itself out because he can escape the pocket and create for himself. We've seen in just a small sample size what the Washington Commanders have done with Jayden Daniels or what the Philadelphia Eagles have done with Jalen Hurts. Brian Daboll is a creative play-caller. Much like how he molded Josh Allen and developed him as a passer while putting him in situations to take advantage of his special physical tools, I think Daboll would do the same for Milroe.
Shedeur Sanders
While some fans would have an initial reaction of “NO,” there are many good reasons why Shedeur Sanders in New York can work. Because of who his father is, Sanders has been in the spotlight his entire career and has performed in high-pressure situations. The reason why I list this is because I believe the spotlight of New York and the media won't be able to negatively impact his approach to the game of football. Sanders should be comfortable with the media and pressure situations and continue to perform well. We've seen in the past how some quarterbacks don't handle the media well and it spirals them mentally and affects their play on the field.
Another reason why I believe Sanders could work in New York is because of his current situation in Colorado. It has been well documented that Colorado lacks a complete team offensively, whether that's the offensive line or a true running game to lean on. Sanders is used to having to carry the weight of a roster that is not complete, which is exactly where the Giants are. Sanders has proven to be comfortable in difficult playing conditions that lack a true support system. He should be able to weather the storm in New York and continue to grow with this roster as it improves over the next few years.
Miller Moss
The theme of this selection of quarterbacks that will fit in New York has been “pressure.” Thus far, Miller Moss has probably played in two of the most high-pressure situations of the season, playing on opening weekend Sunday night against LSU and walking into Michigan against one of the best defenses in college football and playing well. Moss has a cool, calm demeanor about himself which is needed for New York.
Eli Manning survived and thrived in New York by maintaining a calm demeanor and playing good football in clutch moments. I believe Moss has the same ability. Against both LSU and Michigan, Moss had some big-time throws, fitting the ball into tight windows but also escaping the pocket keeping his eyes downfield and making plays. Moss has high-level physical tools and combined with the right mindset, I believe he could be an underrated fit for the Giants.
