Romello Height is a versatile second-level defender who, when aligned as an edge rusher, showcases elite first-step quickness to reach the quarterback and provide constant pressure or sacks.

Draft Grade: Round 2 - Winning Starter

Strengths:

Explosive First Step: Height appears to possess an explosive first step that allows him to be an immediate winner around the edge. This explosive first step sets the stage for Height to continue to win around the edge or redirect with a counter inside path and get to the quarterback. This first step gives him the upside to potentially be a double-digit sack pass rusher in the NFL.

Positional Versatility: In his collegiate career, Height has played both the stand-up linebacker position and the edge rusher position at a high level. He is a versatile second-level defender who will also line up in the A-gaps to show exotic looks to the offense.

High Motor/Pursuit Player: Height has consistently shown to be a sideline-to-sideline player with a high motor to run down ball carriers and make tackles.

Pass Coverage: Height, from the stacked linebacker position or the edge rush position, can effectively drop into coverage and read and react to put himself in position to close throwing windows and force PBUs or turnovers.

Concerns: 

Size Against The Run: Height appears to have trouble setting the edge in the run game, and bigger, physical offensive linemen may be able to consistently win reps against him.

Strength: Height may lack the overall strength to shed offensive linemen in the run game at the edge-rush position.

Block Shedding: When aligned at the stand-up linebacker position, Height struggles from a technique and strength perspective to shed offensive linemen who have worked to the second level and get to the ball carrier.
