Diego Pavia is a highly competitive and tough quarterback with plus-level tools, including mobility and accuracy, that can allow him to be a successful quarterback in the NFL.  

Draft Grade: Round 6 - Role Specific Contributor

Strengths:

Mobility: Pavia has the mobility and athleticism to escape pressure in the pocket and throw the ball down the field. Pavia can also use his mobility on QB-designed run plays and pick up impactful yards.

Creativity: When passing plays break down structurally due to pressure, Pavia can escape the pocket and create positive, explosive plays offensively. He has the natural instincts at the quarterback position to create a positive play when things don't go as planned.

Experience: Pavia enters the NFL after more than 40 college starts. He has experience playing in hostile environments and high-profile moments.

Gamer: Pavia is a high-end competitor who embraces an underdog mentality. Every game that he plays, he has the mentality that he can will himself and his team to a win. 

Concerns:

Size: Pavia measurements fall under the ideal threshold for NFL quarterbacks. This may hinder his ability to see the field fully, which may result in missing open receivers or not seeing defenders who can make a play on the football.

Decision-Making: Pavia, on occasion, will throw the ball into high-traffic areas where defenders have the opportunity to intercept the football.

Reading Post-Snap Coverage: There were situations where defenses shifted their coverages or rolled defenders late into places that Pavia wasn't able to identify. This resulted in negative plays or turnovers.
