Pros: Quick, shifty, and elusive. Deceptive route-runner that has experience executing routes that features multiple breaks and I love how he sells his breaks and snaps his hips sharply through turns. Good route-runner to all levels of the field and he knows how to get loose in the intermediate areas of the field by making excellent adjustments and finding space against zone coverage. His burst and agility makes him effective after the catch and he is creative with the ball in his hands. Showcases reliable hands and he cleanly plucks the football outside of his frame. While primarily used in the slot, he has some experience out wide. Became a featured component of the Wake offense in 2020 and was incredibly efficient with a high volume of targets.
Cons: Long frame but he’s fairly lean and the physical components of the position aren’t his strong suit. When he’s challenged with physicality as a route-runner and at the catch point, his lack of functional strength shows up. Ordinary body control and his above the rim game doesn’t impress. There were several instances in my exposures where he struggled to extend his catch radius vertically and maintain his positioning at the catch point.
TDN Consensus: 67.80/100 (Seventh Round Value)
Marino Grade: 68.00/100
