ANALYST'S REPORTS

Solak

PROS: Long-strider who can eat up dirt in quick periods. Has long speed to destroy angles and get over the top of a defense. Displayed good release moves on multiple occasions; uses lean regularly in stem of route to generate space for eventual break. Can make hands snags away from frame. Preserves momentum through gentle breaks and has easy transitions; can work head fakes and snaps into multi-break routes to deceive defenders. Has good anticipation after the catch to set up room for extra yardage.

CONS: Struggles immensely to catch through contact and seems to shrink from anticipated hits. Does not play with any physicality through CBs' cylinders and can be bullied. Long strides become a disservice when attempting to settle in/explode out of his breaks, especially on multi-break routes. Defenders easily read his oncoming breaks and do not feel threatened vertically because he hasn't opened up his gait yet. Lacks explosiveness out of sharp breaks, especially on comeback/curl routes, on which he does not work back to the quarterback with any urgency. Production primarily came from bubble screen looks; has profile of deep threat speed, but hasn't shown tracking ability and struggles to stack and maintain leverage given soft style of play. Accordingly, may not fit a clear mold, as his short-area quicks are not enough to serve as a slot/YAC monster in NFL play.
