PROS: Understands his run fits from both the box and the safety positions; fills his role within the defense. Will bring physicality sometimes when playing downhill, and does well to attack quick plays to the boundary. Has some good short area quickness to stay connected through breaks as a man coverage defender. Step frequency solid enough to mirror in space. Shows the ability to read through route concepts as a high safety and remained disciplined against misdirection.

CONS: Takes dreadful angles down the field and regularly runs himself out of good tackling position in space. Looks to catch and drag down, with very upright approach. Will stop his feet and wait for contact to arrive, letting the ball-carrier come and hit him instead of delivering any strikes. Because he doesn't drop his hips, he can't tackle in space--lunges and fails regularly. Short zone work uninspiring--does not feel route concepts or understand where his defense is weak, allowing receivers through his areas and into space without adjusting to the active concepts. Lack of physicality a significant detriment to his coverage ability--is manhandled by receivers at the break point and cannot stay connected through contact. Again, top-heavy frame hurts him here. Lacks notable burst and long speed as a deep safety--if they're even, they're leavin'. Generally, physical profile is underwhelming.

Effort--even to the point of seeming interested in playing the game--a major question mark. Will not even offer pursuit on plays that are within his potential path, which allows for potential cutback lanes that he would have occupied. Does not show an extra gear to recover when beat, seemingly satisfied with having already lost the rep. Allows himself to get blocked out of pursuit plays down the field and will stop covering routes late into reps. I'm out on what I've seen from Tell.
