ANALYST'S REPORTS

Marino

Crabbs

Feet - Has smooth, easy and balanced footwork. Changes directions with ease and burst. Has good patience with his footwork and rarely commits false steps. Transitions are clean.

Man Coverage - Has the ability to mirror routes and re- main in phase. Does well to anticipate route breaks and not allow separation. Lack of size and length will limit some of the receivers he can realistically matchup with.

Tackling - Does well to wrap up and hang on but his contact power is below average. Consistently aims low and gives himself the best chance to get the ball carrier down. Isn’t passive but lacks strength and mass.

IQ/Awareness - Tremendous understanding of coverage spacing and layering. Does well to diagnose route combinations out of bunch sets. Squeezes routes effectively in zone.

Physicality - More of a finesse corner that can get the worst of physical receivers at the top of routes and at the catch point. Does not play off contact well and can get bodied.

Ball Skills - Does well to work his head around, find the ball and adjust. Breaks on the ball with precise timing and plays through the WR’s hands. Will squat on routes and jump passes. Comes off his man and breaks on the ball.

Press Technique - His frame limits his ability to be overly aggressive, but he has enough balance to remain within the frame early and crowd routes.

Flexibility - Has fluid hips and does well to turn and run. Generates good burst off his plant foot and showcases good ankle flexion to turn and change directions. Can quickly work back against his frame and adjust.

Versatility - Strictly an inside corner that will have match- up issues against bigger receivers. Offers upside in various coverage schemes.

    BEST TRAIT - Ball Skills

    WORST TRAIT - Size

RED FLAGS - Dismissed from the program in 2015 after he was charged with petit larceny.

Moreland is a small but ultra-competitive slot corner that plays well above his weight class. He has sound pattern matching ability and excellent ball skills that give him playmaking upside for the slot. Despite his smaller frame, Moreland does well to contribute as a tackler and play through contact in pursuit. With that said, there are receivers he simply won’t be able to matchup with at the next level, which diminishes his value and minimizes his future role.
