PROS: Dre Greenlaw is consistently around the ball. Recognizes blocking schemes quickly and consistently flows toward the ball early in the play with active feet. Fluid athlete with impressive range. Takes good angles to the ball and throttles down to stay under control when he finds it. Has the range and athleticism to be adept in coverage. Appears to have natural instincts, albeit needs to trust them a lot more.
CONS: Simply does not finish. Issues are two-fold, fails to commit as a tackler despite being in position, and misses too many tackles. Come away from his tape wishing that his hitting power was a lot better. Too easily re-routed by blockers. Not aggressive or physical enough in his method of taking on opponents in the trenches. Tries to dance around or back out of blocks, which negates his run fills. Must use his hands and length better to keep opponents off his frame. Won’t make a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Cleanup tackler more than an impact one. Broken foot ended his sophomore season prematurely.
