PROS: Tenacious and physical on the interior. Gets his hands inside and is not easily discarded. Exceptional grip strength. Creates torque with strong hand placement to wrench defenders out of their gap. Looks to finish in the run game. Operated a lot of zone at Mississippi State, but may be at his best in a gap-heavy scheme. Can create movement up front with power, leg drive and technique.

Drops anchor in pass protection against bull rushers. Not easily overpowered and when he wins first contact, the rep is typically over. Knows how to sit down vs power, and doesn’t get pulled off balance by more savvy rushers. When a defender works to his edge, does a great job getting a hand on the hip and running them up the arc. Jump sets end the fight early. Excellent mental processing to pick up twists and delayed blitzes. Always looking for work.

CONS: Not a great athlete. Stiff in the hips and mirroring quicker opponents in pass pro will be a struggle. Doesn’t have great length or size, which can allow defenders to outreach him and negate his hands (his best asset). More active second level targets are tough to pin down.

More explosive techniques were tough for him to reach cleanly on zone runs. Doesn’t have great athletic tools, so will need to perfect footwork to start in the type of a scheme. Williams is a good player, but there are going to be matchups that will naturally challenge him, simply because he isn’t the most gifted offensive lineman.
