Scheme tendencies: Mixed converges
2021 Projected role: Starting safety
Pros: Versatile. Has effective reps in deep zones, in the box and in the slot both in coverage and run support. Features a terrific blend of size, length, athleticism, and physicality. Will quickly trigger downhill and fill the alley. Has impressive reps blitzing, showcasing good timing, effort, and closing burst. Has good range and illustrates the ability to cover ground and close distances quickly. Has a good general feel for layering coverage, reading the backfield, and getting to his landmarks. Experienced in all phases of special teams. Overall has a balanced skill set with good size and athleticism and he should continue to grow as he gains more experience.
Cons: Limited experience prior to the 2020 season. Has some flashy moments playing the ball in the air but is still finding consistency in that area and ball production is missing. Angles are not always properly calculated. Can come in too hot when attacking downhill and not be in proper position to finish and is left gasping for ankles. Missed tackles were a major issue for him in 2020.
