Pros - Offers good size and athletic ability, rightfully claiming a dual-threat label. While he isn’t a pin point accuracy guy, Perkins has general accuracy to all levels of the field. Does well to work the football between zones and hit throws in rhythm. Generally throws a catchable football while illustrating the ability to dial up the fast ball and mix in his changeup when necessary. Dangerous as a runner when extending plays and taking off with the ball in his hands. The way he has invigorated a usually stale offense at Virginia is notable. Usually keeps his eyes down the field when pressure comes.
Cons - A high variance passer that isn’t going to be consistent with his reads or accuracy. Has one-read tendencies and he isn’t the most effective working through progressions. Can lock in on his primary read and looks uncomfortable when it’s unavailable. Wish he was more of an accurate thrower on the move. Has enough arm strength but won’t be confused as featuring a cannon.
