PROS: Experienced player that has been a starter since his true freshman season in 2016. Offers coveted size and length for the position to play outside on the boundary. Length shows up both as a tackler and when competing at the catch point. For a taller/thicker corner, Hall showcases excellent change of direction skills and transitions. Generates good burst in plant-and-drive situations and out of his turns. Plays with good leverage and his foot speed is excellent for his size. Operates from a balanced base in his backpedal. Is regularly tasked with functioning in man coverage and holds his own. Has the play strength in coverage needed to pin routes to the sideline and position his frame at the catch point. Flashes good ball skills and the ability to play through the hands of the receiver. Ultra competitive at the catch point and when playing forward as a tackler. Has excellent recovery speed for his size.
CONS: Plays a considerable amount of off-man coverage and is guilty of allowing too much cushion, especially for his length and athletic profile. Would like to see more reps in press coverage to gauge his skill set but he is usually off or in zone. Doesn't play up to his weight class as a tackler. Looks to chop ball carriers down at the thighs instead of securely square and wrap up. Contact power is only modest. Looks calculated as a run defender in terms of processing and playing off contact. Is guilty of guessing in coverage and his route anticipation skills need improvement.
