NFL Week 1: JC's Best Bets

What's up guys - NFL football is back! The start of the season means a couple of things for me. First, I will most likely be taking the Buccaneers money line. Second, I will most likely be losing that bet. BUT, I do have to say that I usually recover quite nicely.

Welcome to my weekly edition of “JC’s Best Bets.” In no way am I telling you to wager your hard-earned money on my brain; but you are always welcome to come see how I feel about the week’s slate of games. I will be keeping my record as the season goes on so you all can praise or mock me.

Let’s kick this bad boy off!

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5, 44) at Cleveland Browns

James Connor comes in for Le'Veon and gets the job done. Pittsburgh's offensive arsenal is too much for Cleveland.

Pittsburgh -3.5.

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings (-6.5, 46)

Kirk Cousins is now the man in Minnesota. Him and Adam Thielen are going to be a dynamic duo. The 49ers are moving in the right direction and I love Jimmy G, but I'm taking Minnesota.

Minnesota -6.5.

Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts (-3, 48.5)

Andrew Luck is finally making his return to football but it won't be enough of a factor initially to beat the Bengals. A.J. Green and Joe Mixon will carry Cincinnati to the upset.

Cincinnati +3

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens(-7.5, 40)

Did you say Nathan Peterman is starting?

Ravens -7.5

Jacksonville Jaguars (-3, 43.5) at New York Giants

The Jaguars defense will be too much for the Giants. Jacksonville spoils Saquon's debut.

Jacksonville -3

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints (-9.5, 49.5)

The Bucs don't have Jameis Winston or Brent Grimes in this one. The Fitzmagic won't be enough.

Saints -9.5

Houston Texans at New England Patriots (-6.5, 51)

I like Houston a lot this year. I think Deshaun Watson is a legitimate MVP candidate. Rule number one of sports betting, take the Pats.

Patriots -6.5

Tennessee Titans (-1.5, 45) at Miami Dolphins

Marcus Mariota starts becoming the player we thought he would be. Tennessee takes down Miami.

Titans -1.5

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5, 48)

It's now the Patrick Mahomes era in KC. Unfortunately, they are going to fall short to a tough Chargers team on the road.

Chargers -3.5

Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos (-3, 42.5)

Seattle won't be able to protect Russell Wilson in this game. Von Miller and Bradley Chubb will harass Russ all game long. Keenum wins his debut for the Broncos.

Broncos -3

Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers (-3, 42.5)

The Dallas offense line is banged up and Christian McCaffrey has a statement game to start the season.

Carolina -3

Washington Redskins at Arizona Cardinals (-1, 43.5)

Adrian Peterson carries the Redskins to an upset on the road. It's just a matter of time before the Rosen era begins in Arizona.

Redskins +1

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-7.5, 47.5)

I really do believe the Bears are putting together a solid core and Anthony Miller is going to be a star in this league. But they need to grow together.

Packers -7.5

New York Jets at Detroit Lions (-6.5, 45)

Sam Darnold makes his debut against Matt Patricia's Lions and it results in defeat. Lions take this one.

Detroit -6.5

Los Angeles Rams (-4, 49) at Oakland Raiders

Jon Gruden is delusional. He's taking the Raiders back to the 90's. Expect Marshawn Lynch to get 25+ carries. Rams dominate this one.

Rams -4

Everyone have a great weekend. Football is back. Best time of the year, baby. Cheers!
