The Las Vegas Raiders shut down EDGE Maxx Crosby for the season, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported. Crosby vehemently disagreed with the decision and angrily left the facility. He later posted videos on social media of himself playing basketball and standing on a trampoline.
Scoopage: Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down last two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building @nflonfox has learned. This could lead to questions on his future in Vegas

The Raiders took control of the No. 1 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft as a result of Sunday's Week 17 loss to the New York Giants. Are the Raiders willingly tanking?
Crosby has previously expressed frustration. The Raiders aren't trending in the right direction and appear headed for another lengthy rebuild this offseason. Head coach Pete Carroll could be one-and-done after a disastrous season. Crosby could consider requesting a trade this offseason. The rebuilding Raiders could use the extra draft capital. We've identified three potential landing spots for Crosby via trade.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have been the most disappointing team in the league this season. Recurring injuries to sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels helped derail their campaign. A terrible defense also failed to help weather the storm.
The 4-12 Commanders have struggled to apply consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The lack of a game-changer at pass rusher has hampered Dan Quinn's defense. This wasted season shouldn't change how Adam Peters functions as the general manager. The Commanders can return to legitimate contention next year if Daniels is healthy. Crosby would have a massive impact on the defense. If Peters can patch together the draft capital needed, he should consider making the Raiders an aggressive offer.
Seattle Seahawks
The 13-3 Seattle Seahawks are tied for the NFL's best record and are one Week 18 victory away from clinching the No. 1 seed and homefield advantage throughout the NFC. If the Seahawks don't win the Super Bowl, they should be confident in their ability to seriously compete again throughout 2026. Acquiring an elite pass rusher like Crosby would signal their intentions.
The Seahawks are slated to be equipped with more than $71 million in cap space. EDGE Boye Mafe is scheduled for free agency and DeMarcus Lawrence isn't getting younger. The Seahawks have rushed the passer effectively this campaign with 42 sacks, but their future outlook isn't assured. Crosby would thrive in Mike Macdonald's defense.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots find themselves in a similar position to the Seahawks. They're 13-3 and just ended the Buffalo Bills' five-year streak of winning the AFC East division. The Patriots have taken a giant step forward under Mike Vrabel and a sophomore Drake Maye, who are Coach of the Year and MVP candidates. respectively.
The Patriots will approach the offseason with nearly $50 million in financial flexibility. If they don't win the Super Bowl, they should aggressively pursue proven talent this offseason while Maye remains on his team-friendly rookie contract. Vrabel's defense would make use of Crosby opposite Harold Landry III, especially with K'Lavon Chaisson playing on an expiring deal.
