Denzel Boston Scouting Report

Denzel Boston has prototype size and frame combined with athleticism to be a highly productive X receiver in the NFL.

Draft Grade: Round 2 - Winning Starter

Strengths:

Prototype Frame: Boston has the ideal size to play the X receiver position for an NFL offense and be physically dominant.

Route Running: Boston, at his size. is a plus-level route runner who’s able to create separation at the top of routes and running effective routes from all alignments.

Contested Catching: Boston can go up and elevate over defenders to make the catch consistently in a dominant fashion.

Concerns:

Top-End Speed: There is some question about Boston’s top-end speed to consistently separate vertically from defenders on deep routes.

Consistency Separating: There are situations where Boston fails to uncover working the short and intermediate portions of the field, which appears to be attributed to not tapping into his explosiveness in and out of breaks. He needs to become more detailed in his route running.
