Las Vegas Raiders veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers reiterated his wish to be traded on Tuesday. Meyers initially requested a trade in the offseason, but the Raiders refused, and he went about his work.
Meyers still prefers to be traded. The 2-5 Raiders should strongly consider the possibility. They require draft capital to help spearhead a roster rebuild this coming offseason, and Meyers is in a contract year with no guaranteed money left.

Does he still desire to be traded?
“Oh, for sure. But I'm a professional at the end of the day. I'm just trying to play good football.”
Meyers has struggled to capture chemistry with new starting quarterback Geno Smith this season, with 29 receptions for 329 yards in 2025. He’s still an effective pass catcher who recorded 1,027 receiving yards last year. Trading him would also afford more opportunities to rookie receivers Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton Jr.
We’ve identified three potential landing spots for Meyers via trade.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are legitimate contenders in the unpredictable AFC. They sit atop the competitive North division and are strong favorites to capture the title, given the state of the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is playing like an MVP candidate while executing Arthur Smith's offense at a high level.
D.K. Metcalf has been Rodgers' go-to target, registering 406 yards and four touchdowns. The Steelers' second and third-leading receivers are tight end Pat Freiermuth and running back Jaylen Warren. Pass-catching depth at receiver is a problem, with Calvin Austin III being the only other wideout to produce 100 yards. Roman Wilson hasn’t panned out yet. Rodgers could use another proven veteran outlet, and Meyers would be a terrific fit.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have not experienced the campaign they believed they were destined for. Following up a dreamlike run to the NFC Championship Game last season, they've battled injuries and slow starts this campaign, leading to a lackluster 3-4 record. Health and production have been recurring issues at wide receiver.
Both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel have been injured in recent weeks. The Commanders have been piecing together a wide receiver corps in their absence while being overly reliant on Zach Ertz to carry the passing game. Jaylin Lane is still developing and Luke McCaffrey is inconsistent. They're still in the wild-card hunt and shouldn't admit defeat on their 2025 season. Meyers would provide Jayden Daniels and the offense with another much-needed lifeline.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 5-2 despite suffering multiple injuries on offense, initially across the offensive line. That bug is starting to bite at wide receiver, too. Mike Evans suffered a potentially season-ending broken collarbone injury earlier this week. Rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka has also been limited by injury in recent weeks.
Baker Mayfield has leaned on Sterling Shepard and Tez Johnson at wide receiver lately. The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons are both chasing the Bucs in the NFC South. They can't afford to let up. Meyers would be an incredible addition to a receiving corps that is facing adversity right now.
