The 2025 Senior Bowl will provide an opportunity for NFL draft prospects to prove themselves on the largest pre-draft stage. Nebraska defensive lineman Ty Robinson plans on taking full advantage. Robinson recently spoke exclusively with the Senior Bowl and Draft Network to discuss his motivation for accepting his invitation to compete in Mobile, Alabama.

Robinson also discussed what he's striving to prove to NFL general managers and scouts in attendance at the Senior Bowl, his versatility as a pass rusher, how he’d write his own scouting report, and more. Let's get to know Robinson better ahead of his journey to the Senior Bowl.

JM: Where were you when you found out about your Senior Bowl invite and what was your initial reaction?

Ty Robinson: We were prepping for our bowl game at the time. My head coach [Matt Rhule] texted me to come see him in his office after meetings. I sat down and had no idea why I was there (laughs). He ended up handing me the Senior Bowl invitation. I had the biggest smile on my face knowing my hard work was starting to pay off.

One of my teammates [Tommi Hill] was also invited. It was just an awesome experience.

JM: That sounds like a special moment. What motivated you to accept the Senior Bowl’s offer?

Ty Robinson: I just love football. I was always going to accept a chance to go out there and play another football game, especially against some of the best NFL draft prospects in the country. There’s no better place for me to showcase myself and my talent to NFL evaluators than in Mobile.

JM: What are you hoping to prove to NFL general managers, coaching staffs, and scouts in attendance in Mobile?

Ty Robinson: I want to prove that I should rank very highly on their draft board. I should be their No. 1 pick type of deal. I want them to see what kind of player and person they’re going to get. The off-field stuff is so important as well.

JM: How would you write your own scouting report? Do you kick inside, do you convert speed to power, are you an edge guy? Self-scout yourself for us.

Ty Robinson: I think I’m very versatile. I can play up and down the entire defensive line. I feel comfortable at all positions. I play with a high motor and with terrific violence. I use my hands very well. I bring a different, great mentality to the game of football.

JM: How would you describe your pass rush arsenal? You had a career-high seven sacks this past season.

Ty Robinson: It’s something I’m working to improve every single day. I ended up recording seven sacks this season, as you said. It was a career-high for me, but there were many missed opportunities as well. I’m fine-tuning my arsenal throughout this process. I’m trying to get better.

JM: What changed for you and led to the career-best sack numbers?
Ty Robinson: I have to thank my position coach [and former NFL player] Terrance Knighton. He did a great job helping me perform in that area. He gave me the confidence I needed to go out there and win as a pass rusher.

We had a great strength staff as well with coach [Corey] Campbell. He helped me be more flexible and bend better. He helped me understand my body in ways I didn’t understand it in years prior.

JM: Fun question before we let you go. What’s on Ty Robinson’s pre-game playlist?

Ty Robinson: It depends on my mood and who we’re playing against. It could be Shoreline Mafia or Slipknot. I might listen to some Future, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar as well.

JM: Is there anyone you’re looking forward to swapping jerseys with at the next level?

Ty Robinson: I honestly haven’t even thought about that. I’m just taking this process one day at a time. It would be really cool to have that opportunity someday. It’s almost like you have to gain the respect of the league in order to do that. It’d be an honor.

JM: This has been outstanding. At the end of the week, what does a successful Senior Bowl look like for Ty Robinson?

Ty Robinson: I want to be on the winning side. It also means I came out healthy. I’m going to get better throughout the week of practice. I’m excited to be surrounded by a bunch of dudes that play and coach this game at a high level. I want to learn and grow.
