Parker Brailsford Scouting Report

Parker Brailsford is a quick-twitch IOL who has the physical traits to be a high-level starter in a zone-primary run-blocking scheme.

Draft Grade: Round 4 - Developmental Traits

Strengths:

Athleticism/Lateral Agility: Brailsford consistently utilizes his athleticism in both the run game and pass protection. In the run game, he shows the quickness and movement skills to gain leverage immediately after the snap, seal defenders, and beat them to their spot to establish effective blocks. Brailsford is effective at sealing off the backside on runs and also shows the mobility to snap and pull as a lead blocker, highlighting his athleticism and range in space.

Football IQ: Brailsford displays a high football IQ across multiple aspects of his game. In pass protection, he does an excellent job identifying blitzes pre-snap and consistently recognizes twists and stunts post-snap. In the run game, he works well in combination blocks, staying in sync on double teams and efficiently climbing to the second level to engage linebackers with proper angles and timing.

Pass Protection: Brailsford is a reliable interior offensive lineman in pass protection. After the snap, he keeps his head on a swivel, actively scanning for work and showing a willingness to help on either side to preserve the integrity of the pocket. He plays with a solid base to absorb contact while maintaining the lateral mobility needed to slide and pick up delayed blitzers.

Concerns:

Size/Length: Brailsford is an undersized interior offensive lineman, and this limitation shows up in specific situations. In pass protection, he can struggle against defensive linemen who align head up and win with power, as he has difficulty anchoring consistently and will give ground into the pocket. In the run game, Brailsford lacks the mass and raw strength to generate consistent movement at the line of scrimmage, often resulting in stalemates rather than displacement of defenders.
