Film Analysis:

Jacolby George projects as a multi-phase contributor with the versatility to earn snaps on offense and special teams. Aligned primarily on the outside for the Hurricanes, George’s quick twitch and creativity after the catch showcase a prospect that will add depth to an NFL receiver room.

George showcases a varied release package but is best working to the inside on timing and rhythm throws. Does a good job of working to create separation versus press-man but can occasionally be overpowered by more physical corners. George varies his footwork and tempoing to keep defensive backs off-balance. Snaps off routes at tight angles to create a linear path toward either sideline.

With the ball in his hands, George showcases good vision and long strides to eat up ground. Good linear speed, but not great. Has a good amount of wiggle in open grass, displaying a wide variety of movements to make defenders miss (dead leg, spin, stiff arm). That ability is also showcased on special teams. When working on longer-developing routes, George remains patient in his stem to allow the play to develop. Does well in getting his eyes back to the football upon arrival and will adjust his body to corral passes (North Carolina). Route tree contains concepts at all three levels, showcasing a well-rounded wideout with comfortability in working at a variety of depths.

Improvement is needed in his fundamental explosiveness, which will vary from time to time. Drops were prevalent for George in 2023 but are a small concern at this point. Although George plays bigger than his frame suggests, his lack of mass shows up in the run game and when he attempts to box out or overpower larger corners.

Overall, George is a twitchy playmaker who has production at a variety of depths. Projecting a role on the outside seems fortuitous at this point in his evaluation, but his experience on the perimeter in the ACC along with his short-area quickness/YAC ability showcase an inside-out weapon that will add depth to an offense.
