Film Analysis:
Kendall Milton has the look and build of an NFL starting running back. His dense and sturdy frame generates power upon contact with defenders. Milton is a downhill, physical running back who excels working between the tackles. He runs with aggression and fights for every yard available. He has a strong leg drive to power through would-be arm tackles and push piles in short-yardage situations. Also, he is a difficult task to bring down in the open field for defensive backs once he clears the second level of the defense. He is a great yards-after-contact runner.
Milton is experienced in both zone and gap-scheme runs, increasing his value for NFL teams. He is patient enough to allow his blocks to set up and follow them to daylight. Milton possesses a good, explosive burst through running lanes. Paired with his vision to find lanes, he can slip through smaller creases at the line of scrimmage. He possesses the tools to be a reliable pass protector on money downs.
Milton has the workhorse look but lacks the workhorse production or touches. He has been a part of a stable since joining the Bulldogs. His physical run style leads to concerns about holding up and remaining healthy at the next level. He seeks out contact from defenders and those hits pile up over time. Despite showcasing his adequate hands, the receiving production is nowhere to be found. Georgia did not target him much in the passing game.
Overall, Milton projects as a backup running back with starting potential. He can wear different hats/roles for an offensive rushing attack, either as a bell cow, a fourth-quarter closer, or a dangerous red zone running back. He has the frame to handle the volume of carries and produce.
