Auburn interior offensive lineman Kam Stutts is a big-bodied blocker. The 6-foot-5, 323-pound Stutts is a mauler in a phone booth. Stutts served as the primary starter at right guard for the Tigers across the previous two seasons, testing his abilities against some of the best defenders in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Stutts recently spoke exclusively with The Draft Network about what he proved to scouts at this year’s Tropical Bowl, which NFL teams have shown interest in his services throughout the draft process, and more.
JM: What do you think you proved to NFL scouts and decision-makers at this year's Tropical Bowl?
Kam Stutts: I think I played very well. I was a consistent performer at the Tropical Bowl. I got after some guys. I showed NFL scouts that I love to compete on a snap-by-snap basis. I was really honing my craft out there.
In the game, we gave up no sacks and just one pressure as a unit. I think I did a great job improving my pre-draft stock at the Tropical Bowl. It was a good showing for me. I was dominant while moving guys off the line of scrimmage.
JM: You were a two-year starter at right guard for Auburn. How have your experiences over the past two seasons gotten you ready for the next level?
Kam Stutts: I had five different offensive line coaches and seven different offensive coordinators throughout my time at Auburn. Being exposed to so much helped make me a versatile player. I have a lot of experience playing in pretty much every type of offense.
I’ve been exposed to different coaching styles. I learned how to deal with adversity throughout my time at Auburn. I learned different concepts and the intricate details of each play from some very good coaches. I always understood the overall goal of the offense and what we were trying to do.
Understanding different angles and what’s going on in our backfield helped me be successful in different offenses. There’s so much that goes into it. Familiarizing myself with those concepts helped me dominate.
JM: When is your Pro Day, and what are your official measurements right now?
Kam Stutts: Pro Day is on March 22. It’s less than two weeks away. I’m currently 6-foot-5 and 323 pounds. That’s what I weighed in today (laughs).
JM: How would you describe your identity as a guard? Are you a mauler in a phone booth or more of an athletic blocker in space?
Kam Stutts: I like to consider myself a mauler. I enjoy moving guys off the line of scrimmage. Being physical has to be your main thing as an offensive lineman. That’s my opinion. You have to dominate. You have to embrace the physical aspect that comes with playing this position.
That’s how you succeed as an offensive lineman. I also think I’m very athletic in space, especially for my size. I do a really good job of pulling and playing in space. I can get the job done when I’m on the move.
JM: Have you met with any NFL teams throughout this pre-draft process?
Kam Stutts: I met with a few teams at the Tropical Bowl. I had these formal-type meetings with the Ravens, Dolphins, and Patriots. I spoke with those three teams pretty consistently throughout my time there.
JM: We've appreciated your time today. Why should a team use a draft pick on Kam Stutts?
Kam Stutts: You’re going to get a guy that will consistently do his job. I’m never satisfied. I want to go out there and dominate. I always put my best foot forward to help the team win games. My No. 1 goal is always for the team to be successful.
