Film Analysis:

Charles Turner III is an experienced IOL who has played primarily the center position during his career at LSU. Turner is a good athlete who utilizes his athleticism to help him in multiple facets of the game.

As a run blocker run, on zone or power runs, Turner has a good first step that allows him to get out in front of blockers in an attempt to win the positioning battle with defenders to out-leverage them. Turner can be relied upon to get into position and can force defenders to work through him to try and make a play. Turner can also effectively work combo blocks and work to second-level defenders.

In pass protection, Turner's athleticism shows in his lateral movements. Turner has quality reps working left to right to feel rushers that may be attempting to penetrate the A-gaps and seal them off. Turner also showed to be effective at picking up twists and stunts and has the footwork to mirror and match defenders on them.

The biggest concern for Turner as an IOL on the next level would be his strength in both the run game and in pass pro. In the run game, Turner can make initial contact with defenders but cannot often sustain blocks because of his lack of strength to stay attached. Defenders can shed Turner. At times, it appears that Turner is aware of this lack of strength and to get movement along the line of scrimmage, he has to throw his entire body into the block, which results in him being off-balance and easily shed by defenders. In pass pro, the lack of strength shows in how Turner struggles to anchor against bull rushes and can be collapsed into the pocket.
