Film Analysis:
Audric Estime is a big-bodied, power ball-carrier with experience in both gap and zone-blocking schemes. As a ball-carrier, Estime shows excellent patience within the tackles and is quick to attack even the smallest of alleys.
Behind a powerful lower half, Estime can power through arm tackles and can create his own creases when gaps initially look occupied. An undervalued part of Estime’s game is his ability to always fall forward and pick up positive yardage for the offense. Although Estime is a power back, he has showcased excellent lateral agility in spurts.
The concerns about Estime’s game are about his ability to break explosive runs against more athletic defenses. Estime has short, choppy steps, allowing him to maintain his balance near the line of scrimmage but he lacks the extra gear to create chunk plays with consistency. Estime’s patience appears to have a downside at times, as he will become too patient behind the line of scrimmage and allow defenses to penetrate the blocking scheme. Estime’s lack of true quickness and explosiveness limits how much he can create explosive plays himself.
Currently, Estime's best projection as a prospect will be as an in-between-the-tackles downhill runner who serves as the power back in a split-carry backfield. To become a three-down back, Estime will need to improve as both a route-runner and pass-catcher to become a reliable target for the quarterback out of the backfield.
