PROS – Minshew illustrates desirable arm talent as a passer, he is able to push the ball to all areas of the field and do so under duress. Accuracy under pressure is one of his best qualities, has laced several throws into receivers in stride in tight spacing and unideal circumstances. An anticipation passer who is very comfortable throwing in between the numbers on spot throws to beat zone coverage. Is light on his feet in the pocket, able to slide, pivot or flush forward in a moments notice and will keep eyes down the field once forced off of his spot. Productive in first season with the Cougars, but more impressive is the chemistry he’s shown with receivers. Thrives on back shoulder throws against man to man coverage into the boundary.

CONS – While arm talent is present and obvious, there are too many misfires to overlook at this juncture. Will miss balls high and inside when coming to crossing patterns late. Struggles with grasping the needed trajectory to drop balls over the top of defenders against lengthy defenders playing in-phase. Ball arrives in a timely manner but arm shouldn’t be considered explosive, Minshew does not drive the ball with exceptional power, specifically to the boundary. Can still get stuck on a favorable pre-snap look, would like to see more willingness to work off of a primary read and get into secondary options more quickly.
