PROS: Zedrick Woods is a box safety who can sift through trash to play the run. Comfortable playing around the line of scrimmage and is consistently discipline with his run fills. When he lines them up, consistently gets ball carriers to the ground. Good size with an impressive tackle radius. Has the physicality and demeanor to compete for special teams spot. Works off of blocks decently well for a safety.

CONS: Below-average athlete. Closing speed is a mile-an-hour. Lateral agility and overall explosiveness is poor for a safety. Excruciatingly conservative as a tackler in pursuit. Hesitates to not overrun his mark but then can’t make up for lost ground. Slow. Plays free safety at Cleveland Browns Jabrill Peppers depth, backpedaling to allow a ton of space in front of him. At times 35 yards off the LOS and 20-25 yards from closest receiver. No situational awareness in deep coverage. Not aggressive or instinctive enough to play in deep coverage. Lacks the range and ball skills necessary to be a difference-maker working single-high. Man coverage is too loose, allows separation and then can’t close fast enough on the windows. Transitions are stiff and slow. Allowed vertical separation on slot fades both times he was tested vs Vanderbilt. Must do a better job of processing routes/releases and reading receiver’s body language to eliminate late turns in man coverage.
