PROS: Shawn Jefferson’s son plays exactly how you’d expect a coach and former NFL receiver’s son to play. He’s smart, aware of the sticks and knows what he’s doing as a route runner. Good attention to detail to break patterns off and find defensive backs’ blind spots. The most accomplished route runner in Ole Miss’ offense, which allowed him to play inside and outside.

At his best underneath, showing strong hands and the ability to hold onto grabs with a defender closing. Releases are varied and effective vs press and off coverage. Breaks down and comes back to the ball. Size, strength and frame are big positives. Stays alive in scramble drills. Excellent blocker.

CONS: Not an especially explosive or athletic receiver. Lacks the long speed to really win vertically, or the elusiveness/power to be a big post-catch threat. Not much of a tackle-breaker or splash play receiver. Can wear a lot of different hats, but may not have one calling card.

Fair to wonder if separation from more elite press man corners will be an issue. Rarely asked to make combat catches in the five games I watched. May not be much upside in his game. Transferred to Florida to get more targets after D.K. Metcalf pushed into his playing time.
