PROS: Locates his hands pretty nicely, though they don’t arrive with too much heat. Times them well generally, though his punch can be drawn out by slow plays/stutter steps. Can operate hands independently and adjust mid-rep. Understands how to frame rushers and does well to steer them around the edge path (when aligned as a tackle). Keeps feet active for the most part, though can get a little heavy-footed on contact. Has good lateral explosiveness off the snap and can execute some reach/scoop responsibilities. Can seal lanes on running plays when he gets his hips positioned correctly. Is a high effort player. Projects best to the interior, despite starting at LT in 2017.

CONS: Has little to no power throughout frame. Stance is surprisingly square and he often fails to get appropriate depth on initial explosion off-ball, potentially baiting defenders into taking the outside track. Light in the pants and fails to anchor against power. Poor at recognizing rushers’ games and fails to recover when threatened by a specific rush plan. Can be goaded/baited into the same mistake over the course of a game (see: Ohio State). Is a pedestrian athlete and cannot recover when exposed. Late climbing to the second level and working off doubles, often with too steep of angles to affect his target. Limited to zone concepts and uninspiring in terms of ceiling as an NFL player.
