JERSEY: No. 63

HT: 6-6

WT: 321 lbs

D.O.B.: Not Available

PROS: Highly effective in wash down blocks. Has a strong foundation of athletic ability, having played 2016 at Center and 2017 at Left Tackle. Expected to kick back to Guard in 2018, which is where he projects best in the NFL. Shows good hand usage at first contact, will negate only pedestrian length with a well-timed strike. Isn’t married to two handed strikes, will extend one arm to best time his first punch. Plays controlled with fold blocks and pulling reps, able to adjust on the move and pick up a shooting defender at the LOS. Creates consistent movement when playing forward in the run game, creating a lot of momentum in short space to reset the line of scrimmage. Lateral redirection and mobility are both plus traits that will allow Deiter to be a successful contributor regardless of rushing offense concepts (gap/power or zone).

CONS: Struggles with speed off the edge, so future at Left Tackle is limited. Reps with collapsed anchor typically come from compensating for speed, where feet become narrow and prevent hip drop to absorb bull rushes. Deeper pass sets are not the most fluid, will struggle to gain a favorable angle against a hard up field step. Majority of minus plays are resolved with a move inside, where Deiter can be protected from speed rushers and play more laterally in his pass protection.
