PROS: Massive guard with an immovable anchor and nasty edge to his game. Rarely pushed around and sets the tone physically as often as possible. Raw power to rag-doll interior defensive lineman to the ground (Rakeem Christmas knows). Hand placement is very good, able to lock down interior d-lineman early in the rep to allow his feet to catch up.

Clean puller in the run game who throttles down to find his target and latch on under control. Understands when to log and when to kick. On down blocks, can maul his opponent off the line of scrimmage, creating movement at the point of attack. Leverage and hand placement are typically strong points.

Good luck to power rushers. Bubble butt that will move him up Mike Mayock’s board in a hurry. When he lands it, punch can end the fight early. Very much a finisher, will work hard to finish with his opponent on the ground. Pretty good mental processing on twists and stunts up front.

CONS: Not super explosive out of his stance, and moving into space is a real struggle. Has a heck of a time reaching second level linebacker in outside zone. Opponents crossed his face too often on zone runs. Explosive 3 techniques will test him. Sort of the oddball of the Alabama offensive line, as he’s not a great fit for some of their outside zone stuff. Gets overextended too often and needs to bring his feet up underneath him in the run game.

Really susceptible to more explosive movers as a pass protector. If he doesn’t get his hands on his opponent early, it doesn’t bode well for him. Can get impatient and let his weight out over his toes, leaving himself open to swim moves. Big, wide base makes mirroring quicker opponents tough. Strike timing can still stand to improve. Not sure that his major issue, lateral quickness, can be overcome.
