NAME: Mike Weber

SCHOOL: Ohio State

POSITION: Running back

CLASS: RS Junior

JERSEY: No. 25

HT: 5-9

WT: 215

D.O.B.: 8/25/1997

PROS: 2016 was a much more productive (and promising) season than last year, due to hamstring and arm injuries. When healthy, shows compact running style with nice contact balance, bowling over defenders with aggressive pads and feet. Can push through the pile and body is prone to finding the path of least resistance in order to spin into open space. Weber also shows a little bit of juice in the open, he’s capable of beating some pursuit angles up the middle if able to burst through a crease quickly. Can get north/south in a hurry and put the hurting on would be tacklers if coming head to head in the alley.

CONS:Durability is a mild concern after marred 2017 season, although Weber will have every chance to ease questions with a strong 2018. Reps may be limited due to emergence of 2017 freshman RB JK Dobbins in the starting line-up. Weber doesn’t have a lot of looseness in the lower half and as a result his lateral cuts are somewhat stale. Requires extra steps to gear down and change directions, although when able to sustain forward momentum in cuts can bounce through traffic well enough. Receiving experience in OSU offense is limited, a lot of wide check downs that will not be asked of in the NFL.
